This workshop is dedicated to the theoretical and experimental challenges in the field of quantum gases and quantum coherence, with a strong connection to other area of physics including strongly correlated systems, out-of-equilibrium systems, synthetic fields, disorder effects, dipolar gases, quantum information etc.
One of the main goals of this workshop is to bring together young researchers coming from Europe and overseas. The program is divided in 5 sessions opened by leading senior scientists in the field followed by 4 talks by junior scientists selected by the advisory committee. A poster session open to all the participants is an important moment of the workshop.
The 8th workshop edition takes place on 31-August to 3 September 2016, at the University of Salerno, Italy.
Previous editions of this workshop were held in Salerno (2001), Levico Terme (2003), Cortona (2005), Grenoble (2008), Nice (2010), and Lyon (2012), Levico Terme (2014).
A registration fee of € 250,00 will be required to participants to cover full-board and lodging (a limited number of fellowships will be granted to junior speakers).
Selected articles of the workshop participants will be published in a special issue on "Novel Quantum Phases and Mesoscopic Physics in Quantum Gases" of The European Physical Journal - Special Topics (EPJ-ST) http://www.epjst-journal.org/
We are pleased to inform that the EPS will deliver a poster prize of 200 Euros to a PhD student. The winner poster will be selected on September 2, 2016 by the local committee.
